Gail's professional experience and education underscore her talents in nonprofit management. She earned a Master of Public Administration degree, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management, and a B.S. in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University . After 22 years in the banking industry, Gail began a career in public service in 1997, working as the executive director for two nonprofit organizations and as a research and outcomes data manager for two state agencies over the next seven years.
Using her experience, education and knowledge of regional health planning and local homeless services, Gail began this consulting business in November 2003. Through her work in the for-profit, governmental and nonprofit sectors, she has developed a well-rounded approach to assisting a wide variety of organizations with governance, managerial and operational issues – all of which serve to help nonprofit organizations improve their infrastructures and grow to meet the needs of their communities.
About Carolyn Boone
Carolyn Boone, an independent consultant with Nonprofit Management Solutions, shares with clients an expertise that stems from over 20 years of nonprofit service at an executive level. With a particular interest in human resources management , Carolyn works with nonprofit groups to achieve a specific set of management skills and characteristics to enhance business success. While acknowledging the multiple goals nonprofit organizations have, Carolyn helps agencies recognize the human potential and motivational variables involved for program success.
Carolyn found her career niche with nonprofit organizations 28 years ago in Farmville , VA. , with the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP). Several years later, she became the executive director of the John Tyler ASAP in Chesterfield , VA. This marked the beginning of a continuing devotion to nonprofit managers, staff members, volunteers, and board members who work selflessly to create and improve approaches to solving social problems and enhancing quality of life.
During her career in the nonprofit sector, Carolyn developed skills in human resources management and development. Given the rapid pace of change in today's nonprofit environment, she feels it is imperative to support and address current and future organizational and individual needs. Now, as a consultant with NMS, Carolyn works with a purpose – a call to public service and the desire to help nonprofit agencies continue their motivation for doing what they are doing.
Carolyn earned a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Virginia Commonwealth University , a Master's degree in Education, and is currently pursuing the Professional Human Resource ( PHR ) Certificate.
